Golf hoodies and mid layers: warmth without locking the swing

The mid layer decides whether an autumn round feels good or feels long. It should add warmth without bulk and stay on the whole way round.

WINWIZE mid layer and hoodie for golf

Hoodie or half zip?

The hoodie is the relaxed choice and works on the range, in the car, and in the clubhouse. A half zip regulates better: open it walking uphill, close it on the tee.

Check that the hood does not press against your neck at the top of the swing, that is the most common reason a hoodie fails on course.

Knitted mid layers for autumn

A lightweight cashmere knit insulates more per gram than most synthetic layers, and looks better in the clubhouse afterwards.

Thinner is almost always right: a layer you keep on beats one you remove after three holes.

Movement across the shoulders

A mid layer goes over the polo, so it needs room in the back and shoulders, but not at the waist, where it would catch wind.

Firm cuffs keep draft out and the wrist warm through the swing.

How to combine it

Technical polo next to skin, mid layer over it, cap and cashmere neckwarmer once the temperature drops below ten degrees.

Keep the mid layer neutral and it works with every polo you already own.
