Golf t-shirts and tops: allowed, comfortable, and sharp
The t-shirt is the most comfortable piece in a golf wardrobe, but only if it is built for the course. Here is what separates a regular tee from one that survives 18 holes.

What clubs allow
Many clubs now accept golf-specific t-shirts and collarless tops, but rarely tank tops or printed cotton.
Unsure about a guest course? Wear a polo. At your home club, a tee is often the more comfortable call in heat.
Fabric that stays dry
A technical tee dries during the round. Cotton does not, and damp cotton turns cold as soon as the wind picks up.
Light stretch keeps the fabric from pulling across your back in the backswing.
Tops for women
A slightly longer back stays in place when you bend over the putting line, and works equally well with a skirt or shorts.
Sleeveless works for practice and heat, check club rules before competition.
From the course to the rest of the day
A solid technical tee or top works just as well with jeans afterwards, which makes it the most-worn piece in the wardrobe.
Add a hoodie or cashmere knit in the evening and the same piece covers the whole day.
